Aquatic Therapy involves treating various conditions of the lower extremity and
back when a patient has difficulty with mobility and weight bearing. Often times
these conditions are severe injuries or catastrophic claims, or the injured worker
is challenged with severe pain and loss of mobility.
The benefit of performing exercises in the water as opposed to on the land, is a
significant reduction of weight on the body. Hence the patient typically can move
better, has less pain and can work on endurance and strength when they cannot tolerate
land therapy very well. Typically, aquatic therapy is performed prior to or in conjunction
